Grape
100% Chenin Blanc
Tasting notes
The top dry white of the estate: a deep, complex and rich Chenin Blanc. Expect apple, quince and ginger with almond and buttery notes from the barrel, a tangy, mineral line and real cut on the palate, finishing well balanced with a pleasant touch of bitterness. A wine that shows just how good dry Anjou Chenin can be; pair it with roast chicken, pork or river fish in butter sauce.
About the Winery
Château de la Roulerie is a historic estate in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné, in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon in Anjou, whose vineyards date back to the 14th century. Philippe and Marie Germain fell under its spell and left their native Bordeaux to take it over in 2004, and it is now one of the reference estates of the Layon.
Alongside its famous sweet wines, the estate makes a range of dry Anjou Blancs from its best parcels, with Les Terrasses as the flagship.
