Grape
100% Chenin Blanc
Tasting notes
A sweet, luscious Chenin Blanc with a bouquet that opens on white blossom and citrus, then reveals white peach, pear, quince and grapefruit with air, alongside notes of stone fruit, orange and buttered apple. Rich yet balanced by Chenin's natural freshness, with a subtle touch of vanilla on the finish. Delicious with tarte tatin, blue cheese, foie gras or fruit desserts.
About the Winery
Château de la Roulerie is a historic estate in Saint-Aubin-de-Luigné, in the heart of the Coteaux du Layon in Anjou, whose vineyards date back to the 14th century. Philippe and Marie Germain fell under its spell and left their native Bordeaux to take it over in 2004, and it is now one of the reference estates of the Layon, especially for its sweet wines.
Chaume is a Premier Cru within the Coteaux du Layon, on the schist slopes of Rochefort-sur-Loire, where late-harvested Chenin Blanc gains richness and complexity.
