A dry Chardonnay from the high-altitude vineyards of Ningxia's Helan Mountain East Foothill, where long sunny days and cool nights preserve freshness and aromatic purity. Expect a fresh, clean style with citrus and orchard fruit, a crisp line of acidity and a mineral touch from the stony desert soils. Serve chilled at 10 to 13°C with seafood, steamed fish, salads or light Asian dishes.
About the Winery
Domaine Fangsi is a young boutique “garage” winery in Ningxia's Helan Mountain East Foothill, China's most acclaimed wine region. It was founded in 2022 by a group of young tasters and winemakers who want to show what independent Chinese winegrowers can achieve on the world stage, with creative, playful cuvée names and serious quality.
The estate's 10 hectares of vines grow on poor, stony gravel soils at the foot of the Helan Mountains, which shield the vineyards from cold north-westerly winds. With around 3,000 hours of sunshine a year and wide day-night temperature swings, the grapes ripen fully while keeping freshness. Alongside Chardonnay, the domaine works with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Marselan and Malbec, and its wines have been rated up to 92 points by James Suckling.
