The 2021 Clos du Rouge Gorge “L’Ubac” Red is a refined biodynamic wine from Languedoc-Roussillon, likely crafted from old-vine Carignan, Grenache, and Cinsault grown on schist and gneiss soils. Clos du Rouge Gorge, managed by Cyril Fhal since the early 2000s, is located in Latour-de-France, Roussillon. Fhal cultivates appoximately 7.5 hectares of vineyards using biodynamic practices, focusing on indigenous grap varieties such a Carignan, Grenache, and Maccabeau. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 150 and 200 meters on diverse soils, including schist and gneiss, which contribute to the wines' freshness and minerality. Fhal's meticulous approach in both the vineyard and cellar results in wines that are elegant, balanced, and expressive of their terroir.
