100% Pinot Noir
Tasting notes
A fragrant bouquet of red cherries, strawberry and potpourri, with the whole-cluster stems beautifully integrated. The palate stands out for its creamy texture, supple tannins and fine, tight-grained structure, finishing long and precise. One of Volnay's greatest Premier Crus, it will reward cellaring over the next decade and more. Serve with roast duck, game birds or veal.
About the Winery
Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic family estates of the Côte d'Or, founded in Volnay in the 18th century. Hubert de Montille, a lawyer and winegrower, made it one of Burgundy's reference domaines with his pure, long-lived wines, and today his children Étienne and Alix de Montille run the estate, which is farmed biodynamically.
Les Taillepieds is one of the domaine's iconic cuvées and home to its oldest Volnay vines, around 70 years old. Its gravelly topsoil over limestone gives a powerful yet tight-grained wine, fermented with a large share of whole bunches.
