The 2023 Domaine des Lambrays Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 'Clos Baulet' is a medium-weight red Pinot Noir showcasing darker and red fruit aromas, fine textured chalky freshness, earthy herbal hints of eucalyptus or rosemary, firm structure, and a vibrant, persistent finish.

Deep, bright, and limpid red. The aromas show darker and red fruit notes (currants and berries) complemented by an earthy, charming herbal touch of rosemary or eucalyptus alongside sweet spices.

Medium-weight with a polished texture and finesse, the tannins are firm yet fine and refined, never overly astringent, leading into a vibrant, chalky, persistent finish.

More About The Winery

Domaine des Lambrays is one of Burgundy's most storied Grand Cru estates. Its clos was first recorded in 1365, fragmented among more than seventy owners after the Revolution, then patiently reassembled by the Rodier family in the late 1800s. Clos des Lambrays was the last of Burgundy's Grands Crus to earn its status, promoted only in 1981. At 8.84 hectares on the limestone and clay slopes of Morey-Saint-Denis, it remains almost entirely a monopole.

As well as the Grand Cru itself, the domaine owns vines in premier cru and village vineyards in Morey-Saint-Denis, and two premier cru vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, Les Folatières and Clos du Cailleret.

Since LVMH acquired the domaine in 2014, winemaker Jacques Devauges has continued its transformation, with the estate now farmed organically and in biodynamic conversion. Domaine des Lambrays produces wines which possess balance, power and finesse and which fully live up to their reputation.
