Tasting notes

Châteauneuf-du-Pape's whites rarely get the spotlight they deserve, but the 2024 Château La Nerthe Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc makes a case for itself — elegant, medium- to full-bodied, and defined by the tension between vibrant freshness and a creamy core.

In the glass it's pale gold or lemon-yellow, with light green tints. The aroma is intense: citrus, crisp pear, lemon blossom, and stone fruits like white peach and apricot, underlined by hints of toasted hazelnut and wet stone. The palate is sappy, juicy, and complex, striking a remarkable balance between lively acidity and rich, creamy flesh, with a gentle touch of oak lingering on the finish.

More About The Winery

With a history stretching back over five centuriesChâteau La Nerthe is one of the most iconic estates of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Nestled among olive trees, cypresses, and century-old pines just south of the village, La Nerthe embodies both the beauty and the heritage of Provence. Its vineyards, framed by the Rhône River to the west and Mont Ventoux to the east, benefit from exceptional terroirs of galets roulés (large rounded stones), sand, and clay-limestone soils.

The domaine cultivates the traditional varieties of the appellation — Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Roussanne, Clairette, and others — producing both powerful, age-worthy reds and elegant whites of great finesse. Known for their balance of richness, freshness, and complexity, La Nerthe’s wines are admired worldwide as benchmark examples of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

A pioneer in sustainable viticulture, the estate is fully certified organic, ensuring that every bottle reflects the integrity of its land and the legacy of its history.
