Chateau Leoville Poyferre
Classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé (Second Growth) in 1855, Château Léoville Poyferré is one of the jewels of Saint-Julien on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. With origins dating back to the early 17th century, the estate has long been celebrated for producing wines that combine power, finesse, and elegance.
The vineyard spans 80 hectares of deep gravel soils planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, reflecting the hallmark balance and harmony of Saint-Julien. Under the stewardship of the Cuvelier family since 1920, and with the guidance of renowned consultant Michel Rolland, Léoville Poyferré has reached new heights of consistency and acclaim.
Known for its rich concentration, silky tannins, and exceptional ageing potential, the Grand Vin is among the most sought-after wines of the Médoc. The estate also produces excellent second wines, including Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré, which delivers the château’s pedigree in a more approachable style.
