Tasting notes
A graceful, floral Savigny Premier Cru. The nose shows cherry, raspberry and peony, with a touch of white pepper and forest floor. The palate is supple and fresh, with a light yet well-built frame, fine integrated tannins and a gently spiced, airy finish. Charming in its youth, with the balance to age for several years. Lovely with herb-roasted poultry, pork tenderloin or a wild mushroom tart.
About the Winery
Domaine Bruno Clair is a family estate based in Marsannay-la-Côte and one of the most respected names in Burgundy. Its vineyards stretch from the northern Côte de Nuits down to Savigny-lès-Beaune, with holdings across Marsannay, Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Vosne-Romanée and Savigny, now covering more than 24 hectares.
Les Jarrons sits on a well-exposed, mid-slope hillside south of the village of Savigny, on clay-limestone soils that give the wine both roundness and freshness. The vines are farmed with respect for the environment, with ploughed soils and no chemical herbicides, and the grapes are hand-harvested and sorted twice before a gentle, traditional vinification and ageing in French oak.
