Grape
50% Chardonnay, 50% Savagnin
Tasting notes
A classic Jura white blending two styles: the Savagnin is aged for four years in barrel under a veil of yeast (sous voile) in the traditional oxidative way, while the Chardonnay is aged in topped-up barrels. Bright gold in colour, it shows the region's signature notes of green walnut and spice alongside ripe orchard fruit. The palate combines lively acidity with an elegant, textured structure and a long, savoury finish. A wonderful match for Comté cheese, poultry in creamy morel sauce or roast chicken.
About the Winery
Domaine Rolet was founded in Arbois in 1942 by Désiré Rolet and grew into one of the Jura's leading estates by acquiring prime parcels of old vines. It is today the region's second-largest domaine, with over 65 hectares planted with Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir.
The domaine is an institution of the Arbois appellation, crafting everything from fresh, Burgundian-style Chardonnays to traditional oxidative whites and its renowned Vin Jaune.
