Pinot Noir (100%)

100 Phrases pour Éventails 2022 is the second installment of a red wine produced by Herve Bizuel of Clos des Fées, in collaboration with Jean-Yves Bizot, from the coveted Domaine Bizot in Vosne-Romanée (Burgundy). These two figures in the world of wine decided to join forces to jointly produce a world-class pinot noir in Roussillon, this cuvée has earned a reputation worthy of the greatest Burgundies.

The grapes come from the vines that Hervé had planted 6 years earlier on a north-facing slope of the Agly valley on calcareous soils. Aging was carried out in 600 liter vats.

The wine, whose name refers to Paul Claudel's book of poems, caused a sensation in its first vintage and became an object of desire. Just over 1,000 bottles have been made of this second vintage, which will be contested by the best restaurants and collectors.

Tasting notes

It has great ageing potential, and will flourish in the cellar. Its purplish colour with brilliant ruby highlights heralds an elegant, intense nose, subtly combining aromas of violets, a fine, delicate woodiness and greedy notes of black fruit and ripe cherry. On the palate, this cuvée reveals all its complexity and structure, revealing a classy, refined and silky pinot noir. Its sublime balance carries through to a long finish with melting tannins.

More About The Winery

Founded in 1998 by Hervé Bizeul — former “Best Young Sommelier of France,” wine journalist, and Paris wine bar owner — Domaine du Clos des Fées has become one of the most acclaimed estates in Roussillon. What began with a small, garage-made vintage quickly turned into an international success story, with the wines now sought after by collectors worldwide.

The domaine’s vineyards stretch across diverse terroirs, up to 15 km apart, with exposures and soils ranging from granite to limestone. Many plots feature century-old vines, hand-harvested and farmed with a philosophy of respect for nature.

With plantings focused on Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Grenache Blanc, and Grenache Gris, Clos des Fées produces wines of remarkable depth, concentration, and finesse. Ageing in oak barriques and bottling without filtration further enhances their character and authenticity.
