50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc
Tasting notes
Medium to deep purple, with vibrant aromas of black cherry, blackberry and cassis, lifted by rose petal, crushed flowers, cedar and a hint of mint. Medium to full-bodied, with fine, precise tannins, bright black and red fruit, lovely freshness and a long, spicy finish. Its high share of old-vine Merlot makes it one of the most seductive Petit Lions; enjoy from 2027 with roast lamb or beef.
About the Winery
Château Léoville Las Cases is a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) of Saint-Julien and one of the most celebrated estates of the Médoc. Its walled Grand Clos lies at the northern end of Saint-Julien, facing Château Latour across a small stream.
Le Petit Lion du Marquis de Las Cases is the estate's second wine, blending young-vine Cabernet with old-vine Merlot from Las Cases and aged in about 30% new oak. It is made with the same care as the grand vin, in a more approachable style.
