Grape
100% Pinot Noir
Tasting notes
Pretty, fragrant and impressively deep, opening with dark plums, red cherry and raspberry mingled with rose petals, bergamot, white flowers, cinnamon and clove. Full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a fleshy core of fruit framed by fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity, it finishes with great persistence. One of the most acclaimed Clos des Lambrays of recent years, it will reward long cellaring.
About the Winery
Domaine des Lambrays is one of the great historic estates of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits. Its name first appears in a deed from the Abbey of Cîteaux in 1365, and the domaine owns almost the entire Clos des Lambrays, a walled Grand Cru of around 8.7 hectares.
The Clos is made up of three very different sections, from the heavier soils of Meix Rentier and the airy slopes of Les Bouchots to the ideally exposed Les Larrets, with vines averaging around 40 years old. Each parcel is vinified separately and blended just before bottling to express the full character of this exceptional Grand Cru.
