An intensely perfumed bouquet unfolds with floral fireworks of rose petals, violets, and peony, layered over vibrant red fruits such as wild strawberry and raspberry, with subtle hints of dried leaves, tea, and undergrowth adding a refined earthy complexity. On the palate, the 2022 vintage reveals remarkable finesse and fluidity, shaped by “endless curves”; despite the warmth of the year, it remains airy, lifted, and precise, driven by a fine thread of tension that sustains its elegance throughout. Silky, ultra-fine tannins glide seamlessly, with no perceptible oak influence, leading to a long, savoury, and mineral finish marked by purity and understated intensity. Often described as the most “feminine” expression of Vosne-Romanée, Le Clos Goillotte is better understood as a wine of weightless concentration, where delicacy and depth coexist in perfect harmony.
