The color is splendid, luminous, and deep red. The nose is remarkably intense and warm, redolent of red berries — cherry, raspberry, blueberry — mingled with a touch of spiciness, notably vetiver and crushed black peppercorns; as it opens, lovely nuances of spring flowers (violet, lily, peony, iris) emerge, balanced by a hint of marzipan and a fresh touch of mint leaf. The entry on the palate is superb: dense, balanced, and supported by mastered acidity, revealing delicate notes of vineyard peach and wild rose in the mid-palate. The finish is long, showcasing the ripe tannins highly characteristic of the Aux Argillas climat, which lend the wine excellent cellaring potential.
