Tasting notes
The 2019 vintage reveals a radiant bouquet of lemon zest, grapefruit, green apple, and delicate floral tones. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, carried by a fine mousse and vibrant acidity that emphasize its crisp, mineral-driven character. Extended lees aging adds a subtle richness and textural refinement, while the long, clean finish lingers with citrus and a touch of wet stone, perfectly expressing the Grand Cru terroir.
More About The Winery
A benchmark grower in the Côte des Blancs, Champagne Agrapart & Fils is one of the most respected names among terroir-driven Champagnes. Based in Avize, at the heart of Grand Cru Chardonnay territory, the domaine is now led by Pascal Agrapart, who has elevated it to cult status among sommeliers and collectors.
The vineyards are rooted in pure chalk soils, a defining feature of the Côte des Blancs, which brings precision, salinity, and remarkable tension to the wines. Working with low yields and meticulous vineyard practices, Agrapart focuses on expressing each parcel with clarity and authenticity.
Chardonnay is the sole grape variety, crafted into a range of cuvées that highlight different terroirs—from the approachable Terroirs to the more structured and mineral-driven Minéral and Avizoise. Fermentations are often carried out in older oak barrels, adding texture without masking the purity of the fruit.
The style is unmistakable: citrus, green apple, white flowers, and chalky minerality, supported by a fine, persistent mousse and a dry, precise finish. These are Champagnes of energy and structure, designed more for the table than for aperitif alone.
What sets Agrapart apart is its commitment to terroir expression—each cuvée a transparent reflection of its origin, with minimal dosage and a focus on balance.
Champagne Agrapart stands as a reference for modern grower Champagne: pure, incisive, and deeply mineral wines, offering one of the most authentic expressions of Chardonnay in Champagne.
