Tasting notes: “Pascal Agrapart embodies the best of the artisan tradition in Champagne, and his wines show it.”Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate
“NV Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Terroirs is a blend of 40% 2015 and 60% 2014 and derives from old vines that are around 50 or 60 years old. Mingling notes of citrus oil and white flowers with hints of crushed chalk and rock salt, it's medium to full-bodied, racy and incisive, with a satiny attack that segues into a ripe and vinous but chalky, tight-knit core.” William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Expert Rating:Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94/100.
About the winery:Founded in 1894, Champagne Agrapart has become one of the finest grower estates in the Cote des Blancs. The current owner, Pascal Agrapart, has been making wines there since 1984. The 12 hectares of vines that make up the estate lie largely in the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Cramant, Oiry, and Oger. Pascal Agrapart works according to natural rhythms and sensibilities, without any chemical pesticides or herbicides. He always ferments his wines with indigenous yeasts, which he feels is crucial to the expression of terroir, and a portion of the wines are aged in old, 600-liter oak casks. The organic life of the soil assures the health and productivity of the vineyard.
