Tasting notes
Few addresses in Champagne carry the weight of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and fewer still distil its essence as faithfully as Salon. The 'S de Salon' Blanc de Blancs 2015 is a rare and commanding expression of a house that releases only when conditions are truly exceptional and the 2015 vintage, warm and generous yet precise, proved worthy of the standard. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay sourced from the grand cru village that has defined the house since its founding, this is a Champagne of uncommon depth and tension. On the nose, ripe citrus, white peach, and toasted brioche give way to a layered complexity that speaks to both the richness of the vintage and the cool, chalky soils beneath. The palate is broad and fleshy, yet held in check by that signature crystalline minerality, taut, focused, and seemingly endless on the finish. A bottle that rewards patience as much as it rewards the occasion.

More About The Winery
Salon occupies a singular position in the Champagne landscape a house built on obsession, producing a single wine, from a single village, in a single variety, and only in years deemed truly exceptional. Founded by Eugène-Aimé Salon in the early twentieth century, the domaine set out with an audacity that the broader Champagne world has spent decades catching up to. Le Mesnil-sur-Oger was chosen not by chance but by conviction its deep chalk soils and northerly exposure producing Chardonnay of unrivalled tension and longevity. Since its acquisition by Laurent-Perrier in 1988, Salon has remained fiercely independent in spirit, releasing on average fewer than ten vintages per decade. The result is a body of work that reads less like a wine list and more like a curated archive of exceptional years, each bottle a precise, unhurried document of time and place.
