Tasting notes
Brambly red berry fruit with hints of mocha and espresso on the nose, joined by blackberry and floral notes. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a lightly spiced, tobacco-tinged finish, it was praised by critics as one of the most elegant Baron de Brane of recent years. Now mature and ready to drink, enjoy it with roast lamb, duck or hard cheeses.
About the Winery
Château Brane-Cantenac is a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) of Margaux, on the Cantenac plateau, known for wines of finesse, lovely fruit and classic Margaux elegance.
Baron de Brane is its second wine, made mostly from younger vines of around 25 years old and aged for about 12 months in barrel, around 30% new. It offers the estate's style in a more approachable, earlier-drinking form.
