The 2024 Château de Chamirey Mercurey Blanc is a vibrant, 100% Chardonnay from Burgundy, France, shining with a bright yellow color and green hints. The nose offers fresh white flowers, pear, and peach, mixed with citrus and subtle oak. The palate is fresh and balanced, with crisp acidity and a clean, mineral finish.
Bright, brilliant yellow with light green reflections. The nose shows floral notes of white flowers and lilac, backed by white peach, pear, lemon peel, and a soft touch of toasted oak.
More About The Winery
Built in the early 18th Century, Chateau de Chamirey has a unique position on the Mercurey vineyard. The Domaine consists in 37 hectares reflecting the diverse soils and micro climates found within the appellation. In 1934, the Marquis de Jouennes, as a forerunner, decides to bottle the wines of Château de Chamirey, at the Domaine.
Part of the Devillard family's Burgundian holdings — which also include Domaine des Perdrix in Côte de Nuits and Domaine de la Ferté in Givry — Château de Chamirey is the appellation's benchmark estate, farming some of Mercurey's best-exposed slopes. Bertrand Devillard extended the Domaine in the best terroirs of Mercurey to reach its present size of 95 acres.
Nowadays, Amaury et Aurore Devillard represent the 5th generation of Burgundy people, wine's men and women. The family favours a precise, terroir-focused style across both colours, with the whites in particular prized for their purity and ability to age well beyond the appellation's often-underestimated reputation.
