Tasting notes
Chateau de Chantegrive Cuvee Caroline 2024 is a complex, barrel-aged white Graves built on a classic blend of 50 to 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon and a touch of Sauvignon Gris. The nose is exuberant and perfumed, offering white peach, apricot, honeysuckle and acacia, layered with citrus peel, fresh herbs and gentle hints of vanilla and toasted almond. On the palate it is rich and round yet kept vibrant by zesty acidity, opening with juicy tropical and stone fruit before settling into a creamy mid-palate of fresh butter and brioche from lees ageing on the Semillon. The finish is long and polished, with lingering citrus, a flinty saline minerality and a final touch of wild mint, a confident, well-integrated expression of barrel-aged white Bordeaux.
