Tasting notes
Intense, brilliant golden colour. The nose opens with clear white fruit and floral notes, moving towards riper aromas with a light buttery touch. The palate is full, round and well balanced, combining freshness with restrained opulence, and finishes long and smooth. A generous, classic village Meursault that pairs beautifully with cod, scallops, crab or veal in a creamy sauce. Serve at 11 to 12°C.
About the Winery
Château de Meursault is one of the most prestigious estates of the Côte de Beaune, with around 60 hectares of vines, including 23 hectares in Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. Its history goes back to the 11th century, and its vast cellars, dating from the 12th to 16th centuries, are among the most impressive in Burgundy. In 1973 André Boisseaux restored the property, and since 2012 it has been owned by Olivier Halley.
The Meursault du Château is the estate's signature white, blended from five plots on the lower and middle slopes of the Meursault appellation. It is hand-harvested, fermented in oak barrels and aged on its lees for about a year to build richness and complexity.
