Wine Region: Rhone Valley - France
Grape:55% mourvèdre, 25% syrah, 17% grenache, 3% divers
Tasting notes:Dark, dense, and brilliant red color. On the nose, aromas of black fruits (wild blackberries, blackcurrants) with woody accents. Intense notes of spices testify to the high proportion of Mourvèdre in this 2019 vintage. The palate is rich and deep with precise tannins. There are vegetal and fruity touches (eucalyptus, menthol, and small red fruits) that reveal themselves with finesse. A lot of elegance in this wine, the sunny sensation is balanced by the freshness of the Mourvèdre, which is fully expressed in this vintage!

Wine Enthusiast 94/100
A complete expression from 80-year-old vines in this focused GSM blend. Its purity is reminiscent of a perfect brunch experience, but in a glass. Red and black berry jam with fine barrel spices seduces the nose and palate, and demonstrates its aging potential for years to come. Easily cellar well through 2035.
About the winery:
For five centuries, the history of Château La Nerthe and Châteauneuf-du-Pape have melded into one.
After leaving Châteauneuf-du-Pape, head south about 2 km, then go up the alley that winds between vines, evergreen oaks, cypresses, and olive trees to Château La Nerthe, nestled among majestic plane trees and hundred-year-old pines.
To the west, the Rhône as it continues its course towards the Mediterranean, less than 100km to the south. To the east is Mont Ventoux, the giant of Provence from the top of its 1912 m. To the south, Avignon city of the Popes. To the north, Orange, a Roman town with its ancient theater and Roman triumphal arch.
