Tasting notes
The 2023 Domaine Bruno Clair Vosne-Romanée 'Les Champs Perdrix' is an elegant, high-altitude red Burgundy with pure red and dark berry aromas, silky tannins, and vibrant mineral freshness, balancing finesse with structured depth.
Bright ruby red. The nose is pure and transparent, showing just-ripe summer berries, fresh cherries, and dark Pinot fruit, accented by delicate floral violet notes mixed with subtle peppery spice, clove, and stony minerality.
Generous layers of sweet and tangy blue, red, and black fruit define the palate, carried by a silky texture with refined, supple tannins and a lively acidic backbone. The finish is long, clean, and aromatic, with lingering spice and floral perfume.
More About The Winery
Domaine Bruno Clair is one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines, with over 23 hectares of vineyards spread across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The estate produces exceptional Pinot Noir, alongside select parcels of Chardonnay and Aligoté, from regional Bourgogne to prestigious Premier and Grand Cru sites. Its most celebrated holdings include Bonnes-Mares, Corton-Charlemagne, and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze.
The domaine’s history traces back to Joseph Clair, founder of the famed Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. After its dissolution in 1985, Bruno Clair reassembled key parcels from his family’s vineyards in 1986, gradually expanding to include iconic terroirs such as Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, and Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle.
Committed to authenticity, Bruno Clair practices sustainable viticulture, using only natural compost and avoiding chemical fertilizers. Vineyard selection focuses on old vines with natural disease resistance, ensuring both quality and longevity.
Today, Domaine Bruno Clair is renowned for wines that embody precision, elegance, and terroir expression, making it a benchmark estate for Burgundy enthusiasts worldwide
