Grape
100% Pinot Noir
Tasting notes
Lush black cherry and raspberry with aromas of rose petal, sandalwood, earth and spice. The texture is fleshy and dense, yet with the elegance and finesse that are the house signature, backed by a line of firm tannins, mineral tension and a long, spicy finish. Pairs beautifully with roast duck, veal or mushroom risotto.
About the Winery
Founded in 1750, Chanson Père & Fils is one of the oldest wine houses in Beaune, with its historic cellars inside the Bastion, a 15th-century tower that was once part of the town's fortifications. Owned by the Bollinger family since 1999, the house focuses on precise, terroir-driven wines from its own domaine vineyards.
Chanson is one of the major owners of Clos des Mouches, with around 4.3 hectares at the southern end of the Beaune Premier Crus on a sunny spur of the hill pointing towards Pommard. The red comes from vines planted in the 1960s and 1970s and is fermented with a good proportion of whole clusters.
