Tasting notes
A little more opulent on the nose than the regular Malconsorts, very pure, with incense and crushed iris flowers over deep, refined red and dark fruit. Seductive and sensual on the palate, with silky texture, fine tannins and magical persistence. One of the most sought-after wines of the domaine, built to age for decades.
About the Winery
Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic family estates of the Côte d'Or, founded in Volnay in the 18th century. Hubert de Montille made it one of Burgundy's reference domaines, and today his children Étienne and Alix run the estate, which is farmed biodynamically.
The Cuvée Christiane, named after Étienne's mother, comes from a specific parcel of around half a hectare of Aux Malconsorts, across the road from the main vineyard and right next to the original part of La Tâche. It is bottled separately only from this exceptional plot.
