Deep in colour, with a fragrant bouquet of cherries, raspberries, mulberries and rose petals. The palate is supple and rounded, full of juicy red berry fruit with a floral and spicy edge, finishing fresh and crisp. A joyful, elegant cru Beaujolais to enjoy now, slightly cool, with charcuterie, roast chicken or grilled pork.
About the Winery
Domaine du Clos du Fief is a fourth-generation family estate in Juliénas, in the north of Beaujolais. It was started in the 1920s by Francis Tête, a cooper and cellar master, and grew under his son Raymond before Michel Tête took over in 1980 and named the domaine after the Clos du Fief parcel across the road in 1988.
Today Michel works alongside his son Sylvain, who joined in 2014. The family follows a traditional, quasi-Burgundian approach, using semi-carbonic maceration to highlight the freshness and fruit of Gamay, and its Juliénas has long been praised as one of the benchmarks of the appellation.
