The 2024 Saint-Joseph White from Domaine Graeme & Julie Bott is an expressive Northern Rhône white blend (typically Marsanne and Roussanne), showing white flowers, pear, ripe peach, and citrus zest, complemented by fresh almond and wet-stone minerality on a smooth, balanced, saline finish.

Pale gold with bright highlights and a slightly viscous texture. The nose offers white flowers, juicy pear, ripe peach, and crisp citrus zest, with secondary hints of fresh almond, acacia honey, and wet stone minerality.

The attack is smooth and enveloping, medium to full-bodied, with flavors of ripe stone fruit and bright citrus layered with subtle, light toasted and spicy touches. The finish is long, structured, and refreshing, carrying a savory, saline edge.

More About The Winery

Domaine Graeme & Julie Bott are quickly becoming one of the Northern Rhône’s most promising producers. Although they only released their first vintage in 2016, they make handcrafted wines which are gaining a loyal following. Their story is one of hardwork, romance and a stroke of luck. Graeme is from New Zealand while Julie is a native of the Northern Rhône; they met working at Domaine Ogier, one of the most prominent Côte-Rôtie producers. It was through the purchase of their first house that they discovered its impeccably placed garden was on the hillside of Vérin - prime Condrieu AOC - and so their domaine was born.

They now own seven hectares of vines spread across the Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, St Joseph and little-known Seyssuel. Graeme and Julie are boutique producers through and through: they started by making their wines using a neighbour's garage but have now taken up residence in their own cellar, tucked just beneath La Mouline in Côte-Rôtie.

Their winemaking philosophy favours minimal intervention: hand-harvested fruit, indigenous yeasts, and gentle extraction, letting each of their small, steeply-terraced parcels speak for itself. It's this meticulous, almost obsessive attention to detail — remarkable for such a young estate — that has earned Graeme and Julie a devoted following among Rhône specialists, with their silky Vin de Pays Syrah, First Flight, quickly becoming a best-seller.
