100% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
Dense and contemplative, the Philippe Alliet 'Coteau de Noiré' Chinon 2022 makes a compelling case for Cabernet Franc as a variety of genuine gravitas. Dark wild berries, cedar, and pencil lead on the nose, complex, brooding, and unmistakably of the Loire. The palate is full and enveloping, driven by bright acidity and a mineral-laden finish of real persistence, anchored by powdery tannins of exceptional refinement. One of Chinon's most serious addresses, at the top of its game.

More About The Winery
Since 1985, Domaine Philippe Alliet has set the benchmark for Cabernet Franc in Chinon. Now run with son Pierre, the estate farms 19ha organically, across gravel, limestone, and tuffeau soils that bring depth and precision to the wines.
With low yields, native yeasts, and minimal oak, Alliet crafts pure, vibrant, age-worthy wines. Highlights include the concentrated Vieilles Vignes, structured L’Huisserie, and a rare, elegant Chenin Blanc.
