Tasting notes
Deep ruby red in color, the wine shows an expressive and complex aromatic profile, dominated by notes of raspberry, violet, balsamic herbs, prunes, red berries, and leather, complemented by hints of redcurrant, sour cherry, and subtle spice nuances such as tobacco and dried herbs. On the palate, it is rich yet remarkably fresh and harmonious, combining a light but profound body with a silky texture and delicate, finely integrated tannins. Flavors of red cherry and herbs unfold alongside vibrant fruity and spicy accents, supported by crisp, high acidity that brings energy and precision. The finish is lingering, dry, mineral, and fruity, with a discreet touch of oak.
More About The Winery
Before launching his own domaine, Yann Durieux spent ten formative years as vineyard manager at the iconic Domaine Prieuré Roch. In 2010, he struck out on his own, settling in the lesser-known village of Messanges, in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. What began as a financial necessity soon revealed itself as a creative opportunity: here, free from the constraints of Burgundy’s appellation system, Durieux found a blank slate on which to express his uncompromising vision.
