Grape
Zweigelt, pressed as a blanc de noirs
Tasting notes
Pale in colour, with delicate aromas of summer flowers and raspberries. The palate is surprisingly well structured and medium-bodied, with a long, silky finish full of raspberry intensity. Gastronomic and aromatic, it is a superb partner for Asian cuisine, tomato-based dishes and light seafood.
About the Winery
Domäne Roland Chan is a boutique estate in the heart of Austria's Wachau, founded in 2017 as the long-held dream of Roland Müksch and his family, and named with the family name of his wife, Sharon Chan. Based in Wösendorf, it tends just over 2 hectares on the Wachau's famous dry-stone terraces, across four sites: Achleiten, Klaus, Bach and Höll.
The playful name comes from two of its vineyards: Höll sounds like “hell” and Bach like “back”. The Zweigelt for this cuvée comes from selected parcels in Ried Höll and is picked separately, with timing adjusted for texture and freshness.
