Tasting notes
The Edouard Delaunay Bourgogne Côte d'Or Red 2021 is described as a Pinot Noir with a deep crimson-red color, an expressive nose of baked goods (like cherry clafouti and almond cake) and spices (nutmeg, coriander, and pepper), and generous red fruit flavors (redcurrant, raspberry) with a pleasant sweetness and freshness. The wine has bold, elegant, and well-integrated tannins, a fresh and well-balanced palate with dominant acidity, and a long, sweet finish with red fruit and blackcurrant notes.
More About The Winery
The story of Maison Edouard Delaunay is one of passion, resilience, and revival. Once a prestigious Burgundy négociant house, the family sold the estate 25 years ago — but in a remarkable twist of fate, Laurent Delaunay, great-grandson of the founder, bought it back and restored its legacy.
Since acquiring the winery, brand, and historic cellars — alongside his Château de Charmont in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits — Laurent has worked tirelessly to return Edouard Delaunay to the forefront of Burgundy. Today, the house once again produces wines from some of the region’s most renowned appellations, celebrated for their purity, precision, and terroir expression.
The philosophy of Laurent Delaunay is rooted in listening to the vineyard: respecting the terroir, carefully observing the vines, and accompanying the wine’s natural evolution with gentle precision. The result is a portfolio of Burgundian wines that are refined, elegant, and authentic, from village-level bottlings to prestigious Premier and Grand Crus.
For wine lovers in Singapore, Maison Edouard Delaunay represents the rebirth of a Burgundy legend — a house where heritage and modern craftsmanship meet in every glass.
