100% Merlot
Tasting notes
Very deep, almost black in colour. The nose is pure and layered, with ripe black fruits, plum, licorice, tobacco leaf, chocolate, damp earth and Asian spices. Powerful and concentrated yet precise, with very fine, well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity, it finishes long and creamy, the signature of great Pomerol. Decant before serving and enjoy with roast beef, lamb, venison or truffle dishes.
About the Winery
Enclos Tourmaline sits on the highest point of the famous Pomerol plateau, between Château Clinet and Château Feytit-Clinet. Named after the multi-coloured tourmaline gemstone, this tiny estate of about 1 hectare is spread over four small parcels of blue clay and gravel, and is owned by the Kwok family (Vignobles K).
The wine is made only in great vintages and in very small quantities: the 2018 comes from Merlot vines averaging around 25 years old, fermented as whole berries in new French oak barrels, with only around 275 cases produced.
