Grape
100% Pinot Noir
Tasting notes
A powerful, age-worthy Pommard from very old vines. Expect an intense nose of morello cherry, rose and toasty notes, with dark fruit and a hint of spice. The palate is full, solid and long, with firm tannins and refreshing acidity giving it real structure. Built for the cellar, it pairs well with duck, game or beef bourguignon.
About the Winery
After training at hotel school, François d'Allaines founded his wine business in 1990 in Demigny, on the border of the Côte d'Or and Saône-et-Loire, and created his own domaine in 2009. He works as both grower and négociant, and his wines appear regularly in France's Guide Hachette.
His style is built on fully ripe grapes and long barrel ageing, aiming for balance, purity and a true expression of each terroir. His Pommard Vieilles Vignes comes from very old vines and spends an extended period in oak.
