Grape
100% Chardonnay
Tasting notes
Aromas of orange peel, nutmeg, peach and pear, with notes of freshly baked bread and spice. The palate is full-bodied and generous with superb texture, balancing richness with the razor-sharp minerality of Grand Cru Chablis, and finishing long and harmonious. Aged 12 months in barrel and a further 6 months in tank. Superb with lobster, scallops or poultry in cream sauce.
About the Winery
Samuel Billaud comes from a family that has made wine in Chablis since 1815 and spent more than two decades as winemaker at the family's Domaine Billaud-Simon before launching his own label in 2009. Today he works with some of the finest Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites in Chablis, crafting wines in a pure, taut and energetic style that combines crystalline clarity with concentration and great length.
Bougros is one of the seven Grand Crus of Chablis, on the right bank of the Serein, and is known for producing some of the most powerful wines of the hill.
