Tasting notes

Ruby red glinting with violet and bright in the glass. The nose shows the complexity and restrained power of a great red, opening into a floral bouquet with ripe fruit, black cherries and plums alongside the violet perfume typical of Malbec. Voluptuous yet graceful, it keeps a lively freshness, with gentle tannins and seamlessly integrated oak. Decant and serve with grilled steak, lamb or beef empanadas.

About the Winery

Tiano & Nareno is a small, high-end label in Mendoza, Argentina, named after two young Italians, Sebastiano “Tiano” Accorrà and Nazzareno “Nareno” Savina, who left their villages and crossed the Atlantic in 1908 in search of a new life, eventually settling in Mendoza.

Its flagship, Travesia 1908 (“the crossing of 1908”), honours that journey. It is produced in very limited quantities, only in selected vintages, from historic high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and Vistalba at the foot of the Andes.
