Grape
Malbec-led blend with Cabernet Franc
Tasting notes
Deep purple-ruby in colour. Travesia 1908 is known for its floral, perfumed nose of violets with ripe plum, black cherry, blackberry and cassis, joined by hints of graphite, wild herbs and vanilla. Rich yet precise on the palate, it combines intense red and black fruit with fresh acidity, supple, fine tannins and seamlessly integrated oak, leading to a long finish. Decant and serve with grilled steak, lamb or beef empanadas.
About the Winery
Tiano & Nareno is a small, high-end label in Mendoza, Argentina, named after two young Italians, Sebastiano “Tiano” Accorrà and Nazzareno “Nareno” Savina, who left their villages and crossed the Atlantic in 1908 in search of a new life, eventually settling in Mendoza.
Its flagship, Travesia 1908 (“the crossing of 1908”), honours that journey. It is produced in very limited quantities, only in selected vintages, from historic high-altitude vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and Vistalba at the foot of the Andes.
