Four of Our Burgundy Estates
Recognized in the First-Ever MICHELIN Grape Selection
On July 7, 2026, the MICHELIN Guide unveiled its inaugural 2026 MICHELIN Grape Selection, the first time Michelin's inspectors have turned their attention from restaurants and hotels to the vineyard. Of the 94 Burgundy estates recognized in this historic first edition, The Vintage Wine Club is proud to carry four: Domaine Bruno Clair, Domaine de Montille, Domaine des Lambrays, and Domaine Yvon Clerget.
These are wines we've championed for years, and it's rewarding to see them earn this distinction. Below, explore each estate and shop the wines currently in our portfolio.
Domaine Bruno Clair | Marsannay-la-Côte, Côte de Nuits
Founded by Bruno Clair in 1979 and rebuilt from the historic Clair-Daü estate, this seventh-generation domaine now farms 27 hectares across eight villages, anchored by three Grand Crus: Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Bonnes-Mares, and Corton-Charlemagne. Michelin's Two Grapes distinction recognizes "remarkable quality and consistency" exactly what keeps this estate on our list year after year.
Domaine de Montille | Volnay, Côte de Beaune
Founded by Bruno Clair in 1979 and rebuilt from the historic Clair-Daü estate, this seventh-generation domaine now farms 27 hectares across eight villages, anchored by three Grand Crus: Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Bonnes-Mares, and Corton-Charlemagne. Michelin's Two Grapes distinction recognizes "remarkable quality and consistency" exactly what keeps this estate on our list year after year.
Domaine des Lambrays | Morey-Saint-Denis, Côte de Nuits
Records trace this walled Clos back to 1365 in the archives of the Abbaye de Cîteaux. Restored to Grand Cru status in 1981 and acquired by LVMH in 2014, the estate is now farmed organically and biodynamically under régisseur Jacques Devauges, who vinifies all 11 sub-parcels of the Clos separately. Morey-Saint-Denis, Michelin noted, "confirms its full potential" through estates like this one.
Domaine Yvon Clerget | Pommard, Côte de Beaune
The Clerget family has grown vines in Volnay since 1268 — 28 generations of continuous winemaking. Thibaud Clerget took the helm in 2015 at age 24, bringing a precise, low-intervention approach to the family's six hectares, which include Volnay Premier Crus and Pommard Premier Cru Les Rugiens. Michelin's Selected category honors producers of "well-made wines that deliver a quality experience" — a fitting nod to this small, quietly excellent estate.
About the MICHELIN Grape Selection
The MICHELIN Guide's first wine distinction evaluates estates on five criteria, agronomy, technical mastery, identity, balance, and consistency, as judged by a panel of critics, sommeliers, and vintners.
Of 94 Burgundy estates recognized, only 9 received the top honor of Three MICHELIN Grapes; 20 received Two Grapes, 33 received One Grape, and 32 were named Selected estates.
