Tasting notes
The Domaine Bruno Clair Marsannay 'Les Grasses Têtes' Red 2022 is characterized by its intense red and dark fruit aromas of cranberry, cherry, and raspberry, with notes of earth, minerality, and subtle spice, and sometimes a hint of wood from the barrel. The palate offers a tight, linear structure, vibrant acidity, and fine, firm tannins. It's a powerful, focused wine with a long, somewhat austere finish, typical of its terroir, and a significant aging potential.
More About The Winery
Domaine Bruno Clair is one of Burgundy’s most respected domaines, with over 23 hectares of vineyards spread across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The estate produces exceptional Pinot Noir, alongside select parcels of Chardonnay and Aligoté, from regional Bourgogne to prestigious Premier and Grand Cru sites. Its most celebrated holdings include Bonnes-Mares, Corton-Charlemagne, and Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze.
The domaine’s history traces back to Joseph Clair, founder of the famed Domaine Clair-Daü in 1919. After its dissolution in 1985, Bruno Clair reassembled key parcels from his family’s vineyards in 1986, gradually expanding to include iconic terroirs such as Clos St-Jacques, Vosne-Romanée, and Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle.
Committed to authenticity, Bruno Clair practices sustainable viticulture, using only natural compost and avoiding chemical fertilizers. Vineyard selection focuses on old vines with natural disease resistance, ensuring both quality and longevity.
Today, Domaine Bruno Clair is renowned for wines that embody precision, elegance, and terroir expression, making it a benchmark estate for Burgundy enthusiasts worldwide
