Saint-Estèphe knows how to make a wine that fills the glass, and the 2015 Château Meyney is a textbook example — full-bodied, well-rounded, built on roughly 60-65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25-40% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot.
Pour it and the color runs deep, dark ruby-purple, almost crimson. The nose follows suit: intense dark cherries, ripe blackberry, and cassis, with floral violet notes threaded through licorice, tobacco, graphite, and toasted spice.
The attack is powerful and rich, opening into a creamy, complex mid-palate carrying vibrant dark-cherry, dark-plum, and black-fruit flavors alongside fresh white pepper, sage, and a touch of dark chocolate. The tannins are fine-grained, soft, and silky, yet there's enough backbone and grip to hold it all together. It finishes long, juicy, and fresh.
