Expert Rating:

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92+/100 :  : “A cuvée intended to validate Agrapart's contention that terroir trumps cépage, the latest rendition of the NV Extra Brut Grand Cru Complantée is based on the 2016 vintage, complemented by 20% of 2015, and it was disgorged in May 2019 with five grams per liter dosage. Revealing lovely aromas of crisp yellow pear, blanched almonds, white flowers and citrus oil, it's medium to full-bodied, incisive and energetic, with good depth and concentration and a long finish.” William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Vinous 93+/100 : "Agrapart’s NV Extra Brut Complantée Grand Cru a field blend of Pinot Noir Pinot Meunier Pinot Blanc Arbane Petit Meslier and Chardonnay is just sublime. Gracious and lifted with tremendous aromatic depth the Complantée is utterly beguiling. White flowers mint and orchard fruit are just some of the many nuances that emerge. In the glass the Complantée is bright and airy. The blend of varieties yields a Champagne that is so distinctive both in terms of its flavor profile and structural feel. This release is a blend of equal parts 2016 and 2015. Dosage: 5 gr/L. Disgorged: May 2019." Antonio Galloni, Vinous

About the winery: Founded in 1894, Champagne Agrapart has become one of the finest grower estates in the Cote des Blancs. The current owner, Pascal Agrapart, has been making wines there since 1984. The 12 hectares of vines that make up the estate lie largely in the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Cramant, Oiry, and Oger. Pascal Agrapart works according to natural rhythms and sensibilities, without any chemical pesticides or herbicides. He always ferments his wines with indigenous yeasts, which he feels is crucial to the expression of terroir, and a portion of the wines are aged in old, 600-liter oak casks. The organic life of the soil assures the health and productivity of the vineyard.
