The 2014 Duluc de Branaire-Ducru (the elegant second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux) is a round, medium-to-full-bodied red, with vibrant aromas of ripe red and black berries, raspberry, sweet spice, cedar, and tobacco. The palate is supple, fleshy, and balanced by fine-grained, velvety tannins and a fresh, lingering finish.

Deep ruby with a dark core. The nose shows ripe blackcurrant, red plum, and fresh raspberry mixed with sweet baking spices, cedarwood, and subtle tobacco.

Round and full at the start, the palate delivers juicy dark berry fruit, plum compote, and savory licorice, with soft, silky, well-integrated tannins and lively, fresh acidity leading into a structured, clean finish.

Duluc de Branaire-Ducru is the second wine of Château Branaire-Ducru, a Fourth Growth (Quatrième Cru Classé) of the 1855 Classification located in Saint-Julien. Made from younger vines and parcels not selected for the grand vin, Duluc is crafted with the same attention to detail, offering an approachable expression of the estate's gravelly terroir.

Classified a Fourth Growth in the historic 1855 Classification, Château Branaire-Ducru sits on some of Saint-Julien's finest gravel terraces, adjacent to Beychevelle and Ducru-Beaucaillou. The estate has been owned by the Maroteaux family since 1988, who have invested heavily in both vineyard and cellar while preserving the classic, aromatic, finely-tannined style that has long made Branaire-Ducru a favourite among Bordeaux connoisseurs for its reliability and value relative to its Saint-Julien peers.
