Tasting notes
The Château de Chamirey Mercurey White 2021 has a golden color with green reflections, with aromas of white and citrus fruits, floral notes, and hints of minerality and spice from light oak aging. On the palate, it is balanced, with a crisp acidity, roundness, and a long finish that can have a slightly salty or spicy character.
More About The Winery
Built in the early 18th century, Château de Chamirey holds a privileged position overlooking the vineyards of Mercurey in the Côte Chalonnaise. The domaine spans 37 hectares across a mosaic of soils and microclimates, reflecting the diversity and depth of the appellation.
In 1934, the visionary Marquis de Jouennes became one of the first in Mercurey to bottle wines directly at the estate, setting a new standard for quality. His son-in-law, Bertrand Devillard, expanded the domaine further into Mercurey’s finest terroirs, bringing it to its present size of 95 acres (around 37 hectares).
Today, the estate is run by Amaury and Aurore Devillard, the fifth generation of this Burgundian wine family, who continue the legacy of crafting refined, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that showcase the best of Mercurey.
