Wine Region: Bordeaux - France
Grape: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.
Expert Rating:
"This small estate of 24 acres has made a wine with equal proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and a large percentage of Petit Verdot. It is a rich, wood-aged and ageworthy wine. The dense structure and firm tannins partner with a dark coffee as well as black-fruit character. It needs to age and will be ready from 2023. Roger Voss"

About the winery: Château Devise D'Ardilley was created in 1991. It has modern winemaking facilities and vine plots which have gradually been grouped together and replanted. The estate was bought in 2000 by Madeleine and Jacques Philippe, realising a personal dream: born in the Bordeaux area, Madeleine wanted to return to her roots, while Philippe, a qualified engineer having pursued a career with a major services company, wanted to become a winegrower. Their dream became a reality and the wine obtained Cru Bourgeois status in the 2003 classification.
