Tasting notes
The Domaine de la Ferté Givry 1er Cru Servoisine 2023 opens with a pretty, elegant bouquet of raspberry, red cherry, and violet, subtly framed by a gentle touch of oak. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and delicious, offering lively red fruit flavours and a fine, refined mouthfeel. Soft, fine tannins provide a smooth structure that will continue to round out with time, while the finish lingers with a slightly dusty, delicate texture. Though not as dense on the finish as some vintages, it remains an expressive and attractively detailed example of Givry 1er Cru.
More About The Winery
Domaine de la Ferté, part of the renowned Devillard family estates, is a historic property in Givry, at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. With vineyards first planted by monks in the 12th century, the domaine embodies Burgundy’s long tradition of winemaking excellence.
The estate cultivates Pinot Noir and Chardonnay across carefully selected parcels, producing wines that combine finesse, freshness, and structure. Low yields, hand harvesting, and precise vinification ensure each cuvée reflects the unique character of Givry’s limestone-clay terroirs.
Known for their expressive red wines — elegant yet age-worthy — and refined whites, Domaine de la Ferté offers some of the finest values in Burgundy, making it a favorite among sommeliers and collectors alike.
