100% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
This bold and elegant Chinon pours a deep, dark red with an almost inky core. On the nose, it’s richly aromatic, offering ripe black cherry, cassis, and blackberry, layered with hints of graphite, coffee bean, vanilla, and a touch of pepper.
The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with velvety tannins and vibrant acidity that give the wine both structure and freshness. Dark fruit flavors carry through to a long, mineral finish that speaks to the unique terroir of the 'Coteau de Noiré' vineyard.
A powerful yet refined expression of Cabernet Franc, this wine is drinking beautifully now but will also reward cellaring for up to two decades. Ideal with roast meats, duck, or aged cheeses.
More About The Winery
Since 1985, Domaine Philippe Alliet has set the benchmark for Cabernet Franc in Chinon. Now run with son Pierre, the estate farms 19ha organically, across gravel, limestone, and tuffeau soils that bring depth and precision to the wines.
With low yields, native yeasts, and minimal oak, Alliet crafts pure, vibrant, age-worthy wines. Highlights include the concentrated Vieilles Vignes, structured L’Huisserie, and a rare, elegant Chenin Blanc.
