Tasting notes
The 2023 “À Bec…” shows a bright, pure expression of Jura Pinot Noir. The nose opens with lifted red fruits, wild strawberry, cranberry, and red cherry, interlaced with delicate floral notes and a hint of sweet spice.
On the palate, the wine is fine-boned and precise, offering juicy, vibrant fruit framed by subtle tannins and a refreshing, mouth-watering acidity. Underlying tones of stone, dried herbs, and a gentle savoury edge add depth and regional character. The finish is long, graceful, and sapid, with a refined mineral tension that invites another sip.
Elegant, agile, and beautifully expressive, this is a Pinot Noir that emphasises finesse over power, capturing the freshness and transparency of the Jura terroir.
More About the Winery
As the first Jura estate to use organic farming methods, Le Clos des Grives is Ecocert certified since 1968.
Le Clos des Grives was created in 1962 by Mr. Gaston CHARBONNIER, a pioneer in organic viticulture. Claude CHARBONNIER, after the death of his father in 1982, took over and continued to cultivate the vineyard in an environmentally friendly way. In 2007, Claude CHARBONNIER decided to sell his business to François PETITE. The latter will invest in 2011 in a building to house the winery and outbuildings. In April 2017, Benoit MULIN, his cousin Christophe MULIN, and a few other shareholders acquired the estate.
The Clos des Grives now owns more than four hectares of AOC Cotes du Jura. The five Jura grape varieties are vinified in the cellar: Chardonnay and Savagnin for the white wines, Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau for the reds.
